Mining companies claim that in the interests of safety for its positive workers all existing and potential employees must be, as a matter of protocol, be tested for HIV. This is a recommendation the companies are putting before the industry’€™s Tri-partite Committee on HIV/AIDS on how best to minimise workplace injuries and fatalities in relation to its positive workers. Khopotso Bodibe spoke with some of players in the mining business to seek clarity on this issue.
