The report also shows that if the Global Fund can continue to scale up activities at the pace set in recent years, it will be possible to reach or even exceed the health-related MDG goals by 2015, including the virtual elimination of mother-to-child HIV transmission. In October 2010, the Global Fund is holding its third replenishment session, where governments will make their financial pledges for the period 2011-2013, which are crucial years in the run-up to the 2015 target date for the MDGs.
