Pholo’€™s agonising wait is over Living with AIDS # 369

It takes two to three days to get the CD4 and viral load results back. This is when you are using a private laboratory. Two days is not that long. So, the wait should not be that bad. But this is not something you get used to. It’€™s like taking an HIV test for the first time. The best thing you can do is to develop a coping mechanism so that the wait is bearable.

The good news for me is that my results came back looking good. My CD4 is almost 600 and viral load has gone down to sixty thousand copies. Getting good news about my health is something I look forward to. For me, this means two decades or more is an achievable target to get to while living with HIV. In the meantime, I will have to keep doing what I do best. That is looking after my health.
