Formed in May 2013, the coalition is composed of more than 20 civil society organisations and medical associations. In September, the coalition delivered a memorandum of understanding to the Eastern Cape provincial government demanding that the province move to fix its health systems. The coalition also vowed to undertake regularly reporting on the situation. This 37-page report is the second such report.

The document provides an analysis of the government’s action plan to fix the health system and details problems including lingering problems regarding supply chain management, human resources and a lack of medical equipment.
