Obstetric violence is a form of gender-based violence and it happens in our public clinics and hospitals, while women are seeking care. We’ve reported on maternal neglect in hospitals over and over. From Limpopo to KwaZulu-Natal, the stories echo each other: pain, silence, and a public health system that continues to fail women when they need it most.
