South Africa, along with four other countries on the continent ‘€“ Zambia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Cameroon ‘€“ are participants in an extensive feasibility study in preparation for Phase 3 trials scheduled to begin next year. Four sites have been identified in this country, one of which is located at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto and managed by the Reproductive Health Research Unit. Khopotso Bodibe reports.
