Started as a small pilot project in 2010, OurHealth has now grown to incorporate all 11 pilot districts for South Africa’s National Health Insurance nationwide. This presentation outlines the programme’s beginnings and aims, as well as impacts. In its first three years, the journalism programme has trained more than 20 citizen journalists, broken stories of national interest and successfully advocated for better health services in communities.
