Publication: NSP Review December 2013

Written by Health-e News

Published by the Treatment Action Campaign and Section27, the latest NSP Review looks at retention in care, health leadership and the role of citizen journalism in tracking progress against national targets.

Produced quarterly, the NSP Review focuses on tracking South Africa’s progress in meeting the goals set out in the country’s latest National Strategic Plan (NSP) on HIV, STIs and TB 2012-16.

In this issue, contributors look at the long-term retention in care of HIV patients, the quality of treatment and budget issues.

The publication also features contributions from Health-e Managing Editor Kerry Cullinan on Mpumalanga’s National Health Insurance pilot district Gert Sibande, as well as Citizen Journalism Project Manager Sibongile Nkosi on the role of Health-e’s OurHealth citizen journalists in monitoring the NSP.
