LIMPOPO – While the number of patients reporting to clinics and hospitals with malaria in Mopani is dropping, the provincial health department remains concerned as the battle to end the current outbreak continues.

A pregnant woman, who was sent home after arriving at her local clinic with severe abdominal pains, gave birth to a healthy baby girl in the street a short while later.

LIMPOPO - Lesedi Clinic in Lephapane, outside Tzaneen in the Mopani District has gone without water for four months after the water supply was found to be infested with bacteria. Mogale Mojela reports that the water has been switched off altogether.

Patients who are badly treated at Limpopo hospitals are failing to report negligence or misconduct, prompting the Health Professions Council of South Africa to launch an awareness campaign to inform people of their rights, Mogale Mojela writes.
