Call for Health-e citizen journalist applications

Health-e citizen journalists in NHI districts are responsible for filing weekly stories on health issues affecting communities, tracking the NHI rollout and conducting access to essential medicines and drug stock outs in specific clinics.
We are currently looking for citizen journalists in the following districts:
- OR Tambo district, Eastern Cape
- Eden district, Western Cape
- Dr Kenneth Kuanda district, North West
- Vhembe district, Limpopo
- Thabo Mofutsanyane, Free State
- Pixley ka Seme district, Northern Cape
We are especially looking for candidates with a history of local activism or community work.
Citizen journalists are paid per story / clinic monitoring report. Each citizen journalist will be given a Samsung tablet in order to submit stories as well as clinic reports for the duration of the project.
Interested candidates can submit a 200-word letter of motivation explaining why would make a good candidate to Sibongile@health-e.org.za. Letters of motivation should include applicants’ contact details.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
