Mandela Day answer to Tshepong Hospital’s dirty laundry
According to Tshepong Hospital spokesperson Nico Masiu, the hospital experiences a huge surge in demand for laundry services in the winter as the provincial laundry. The hospital receives dirty linen from facilities including Nic Bodenstein and Ventersdorp public hospitals as well as Vryburg Private Hospital.
This Mandela Day, Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Mayor Boitumelo Moloi and local church members joined forces to help lighten the load for grateful laundry staff. Laundry facilities also received a thorough scrubbing.
Volunteer Lesego Mojalefa said she was happy to lend a hand as part of one of Dr Kenneth Kaunda District’s many clean up initiatives this Mandela Day.
“People are admitted at hospitals everyday and volunteering to help today means we are making sure that (those hospitals) are clean,” she told OurHealth.
