Health-e journalists scoop two awards

Health-e News is very proud to announce that at this week’s Discovery’s Health Journalism annual awards, Health-e’s Print Editor Laura Lopez Gonzalez won the health economics category for her report on the cost of HIV and TB care, while TV reporter Kyla Herrmannsen was named “emerging health journalist of the year” for her TV documentary on lack of emergency services in the Eastern Cape.

OurHealth Manager Sibongile Nkosi was also a finalist for her story following the journey to treatment of two multidrug-resistant tuberculosis patients in rural KwaZulu-Natal.  Intern reporter Thabo Molelekwa was also a finalist in the category of emerging health journalist.
