Research shows that 12% of patients in sub-Saharan Africa get infections while in the hospital. NMU Masters Student To Represent South Africa At Global Science Communication Competition
Getting the right help and support is crucial for people who have experienced gender-based violence (GBV). Immediate support can help victims escape dangerous situations, find safe shelter, get psychological support and secure legal protection. The TEARS Foundation is a non-profit organisation that supports GBV victims by providing a database of help services. Their new report shows that between 2020 and 2023 their helpline, Help-At-Your-Fingertips, received 53 004 calls. These callers are helped through the free USSD helpline service by dialling *134*7355#.
