' In November last year OurHealth reported on the tragic death of Boitumelo Mokoena (5) who died in the casualty ward at Phekolong District Hospital in Bethlehem after she was knocked down by a car. On that specific day only two nurses were on duty in the ward which led to slow service delivery and resulted in Boitumelo not being treated in time.

LUSIKISIKI. ' A 27-year-old woman was only treated for pain she has been experiencing in her feet after complaining for six months.

ERMELO. ' Patients on antiretroviral (ARV) treatment here are excited about the roll-out of the single-dose ARVs in April. This, they believe, will improve their quality of life through decreased side-effects and easier adherence.

THOHOYANDOU. ' During a recent school visit, officers from the Mutale Police Station advised learners at the Matavhela Secondary School in Mutale on how to protect themselves against rape.

VHEMBE. ' On Women's Day about 350 people gathered at Guyuni Clinic here to celebrate the occasion.
SOSHANGUVE. - A little Tshwane boy had to be rushed to hospital after accidentally taking rat poison.

BETHLEHEM. ' Poor, marginalised communities in the rural area near this Free State town have been unhappy with the health services they have been receiving from a mobile unit from the Bethlehem Clinic. Patients' complaints range from unreliability of the service to reduced amount of medication being dispensed.

LUSIKISIKI. - OurHealth spoke to patients and staff at various clinics in the OR Tambo district to hear about people's personal experiences with the health services here.

TSWANE. ' There was an urgent call to classify a concoction called Nyaope as a banned illegal substance at a two-day summit by the Department of Social Development recently held in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. Together with the ban, community leaders also lobbied to make the possession of the substance a prosecutable offence.

VHEMBE. - While many people here are still trying to recover from the damage caused by the recent floods, the community of Josefa, next to the Kruger National Park's Punda Maria gate, is pleased with the steady supply of water it has brought.

SOSHANGUVE. ' An attempted cash-in-transit heist ended in a shootout between security and robbers at a clinic in Block TT here. One robber was killed and a patient and nurse was injured in the commotion.
